Granting access to drug programmes and datasets

Once a user has been added to REACT, although they have access to the applications relevant to the role, they will need access to relevant studies.

Access to studies can be granted at either the drug programme or the dataset level, within the VA Security component of the system.

When a user logs into VA HUB they will only be presented with a list of drug programmes to which they have either been granted access or granted access to a specific dataset/s within the drug programme

If a user does not have access to a dataset within a specific drug programme, then the drug programme will not be presented to the user on the VA HUB homepage

Access can be granted by a Global Administrator

There are 2 ways in which access to a dataset can be granted:

  • Access to a drug programme

If a user is granted access to a drug programme, then the user is automatically given access to all the datasets within the drug programme

When a user logs into VA HUB and the drug programme to which they have been granted access, they are presented with a list of all the datasets within that drug programme

  • Access to a specific dataset

If a user is granted access to a specific dataset within a drug programme, then when the user logs into VA HUB and accesses the drug programme for the specific dataset they want to visualise the user is only presented with a list of the datasets to which they have been granted access

Granting Access

To grant access to a drug programme or dataset the added user is dragged and dropped from the REACT user list presented in VA security to the role the user is to be assigned

Revoking Access

User access to a drug programme or dataset can be revoked at any time within VA Security by a Global Administrator

A user role can be revoked by dragging and dropping the user from the assigned role back to the REACT user list

TRAINING VIDEO: This video shows how to grant access to a drug programme or dataset and revoke access if no longer required
